Work commences on the Nature Playground
After many months of consultation and discussion, installation of the first aspects of the nature playground will commence next week. The P&C have commissioned Project Scape to undertake the scope of works which will see the installation of a mud kitchen in the Pre-primary playground and some key aspects of the nature play space in the main primary playground and Kindy. Whilst work commences next week, the bulk of the work will take place over the summer break, ready for the start of the 2020 school year.
On a somewhat related note, the school/P&C has entered into what we hope will be an on-going relationship with MPA Plumbing and Painting Skills in Maylands. As part of their Semester 2 programme, 6 painting apprentices will be in school over the coming two weeks to undertake a number of painting projects across the school including repainting the 'old' playground, restoring two dinghys for installation as part of the nature play project and painting the toilet spaces in each teaching block as part of the Schools Toilet Project. As some areas of the school will be cordoned off to allow the tradesmen to complete their work over the next two weeks, it would be greatly appreciated if parents/caregivers respect the fact that these areas are fenced off for a reason and not allow children to play in these spaces after school.
