Bike to School Day
Well done to all those members of the school
community who rode their bikes to school yesterday as
part of 'Bike to School Day'. This is one of the initiatives
that Mr Christie has organised through our
involvement in the Department of Transport's Your
Move programme. We had well over 150 bikes and/or
scooters in the bike racks, which is a tremendous
effort. This would mean that roughly one out of every
five students at MPPS rode to school. Thanks to Mr
Christie, Mrs Helen Ginbey and the Year 5 Your Move
team for their organisation of the event. The names of
all the students who rode their bike on the day have
been entered into a raffle draw that will take place at
the assembly next Friday.
Whilst it is great to see so many students taking the
opportunity to ride their bikes and scooters to school,
a friendly reminder that no bikes or scooters are to be
ridden on school grounds- this includes adults too- the
rule is as soon as you cross a school boundary, you
must dismount your bike/scooter and walk it through
the school grounds. Thanks for your support on this important safety rule.
